SSC acquires US company

In January 2009, the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) agreed to acquire the US company Universal
Space Network (USN), which provides satellite operations services on the American continent.

SSC and USN have worked in close cooperation for the last ten years, offering satellite owners access
to a cohesive network of ground stations that provide near-global coverage of satellites in any orbit.
The network, PrioraNet, uses SSC and USN facilities as well as stations owned by affiliate partners
worldwide.

USN has some 50 employees and its 2008 turnover was 14.2 million US dollars. The acquisition, which
is subject to US regulatory approval, is estimated to be completed in May 2009.

The majority of SSC’s customers have always been found outside Sweden, but the company started
expanding abroad only in 2004, when the German satellite operations consultancy LSE was acquired.
In 2008, SSC acquired a Chilean satellite station, established a sales office in China and agreed to
become part-owner of a Canadian ground station. The acquisition of USN makes the SSC Group the
world’s largest commercial supplier of ground station services.
