Busy times

SSC’s new generation of maritime surveillance systems, MSS 6000, is proving to be an even greater
success than the previous generation. At present,
over a dozen MSS 6000 systems are being developed
and manufactured for customers around the
world. The first system for the Indian Coast Guard
Aviation has just been delivered. SSC is providing
operator training to Transport Canada who recently
received their second and third systems. Moreover,
a successful Factory Acceptance Test has been
performed regarding the first of two systems for the
Finnish Border Guard.

The SSC maritime surveillance system MSS 6000 is installed on aircraft and helicopters. The system includes a side-looking radar, an infrared/ultraviolet scanner, an AIS transponder for identification of ships and cameras for still and video images. Real time data from the sensors are displayed on the operator console onboard together with an interactive digital map. Data is transmitted directly to the ground station or other units. It is also stored and compiled in mission reports.
